Sixteen previous Florida Conferences held each March for the years 2000 through 2015 inclusive, brought together the academic and industrial communities with an abundance of heterocyclic and synthetic chemistry reflecting the current interest in the subject. The program holds particular interest for the industrial chemical community since pharmaceuticals, agrochemicals and colorants usually contain at least one heterocyclic ring.

This, the 17th Florida Heterocyclic and Synthetic Conference (FloHet 2016), continues in the tradition of its highly successful predecessors. Registration will start on Sunday, February 28th with a Welcome Reception. On Monday the February, 29th through Wednesday the March, 2nd, the Conference will feature eleven plenary lectures given by academic and industrial experts from around the world together with invited lectures and a short course on catalysis and heterocyclic chemistry. A poster session combined with a buffet supper will be held on the evening of Monday, February 29th .

Validation of test (chemical analytical) methods is one of basic requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories (ISO 17025), and reference measurement laboratories in laboratory medicine (ISO 15195). The same is required by national regulators, such as U.S. Food and Drug Administration, UK Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency, and others. There are a number of guidelines of different industries and chemical analytical societies, adapted these requirements for specific purposes and laboratories. The main aim of the workshop is discussion of the experience of chemists-analysts, metrologists and quality specialists in method validation in pharmaceutical industry, food analysis, environmental analysis and other fields. This discussion will include also the following topics:
- use of results of human error study for validation of an analytical method and formulation of the standard operation procedure (SOP), as well as for training (how to avoid the errors) and for supervision;
- evaluation of measurement uncertainty of the test (analytical) results as a part of the method validation task;
- evaluation of probabilities of false decisions at conformity assessment of test results obtained by the method under validation.

his International workshop will provide a platform for discussion of the quality parameters of test (chemical analytical) results in pharmaceutical industry, environmental analysis, metallurgy and other fields, necessary for conformity assessment of a material or object. The discussion will include the following topics:
– use of measurement uncertainty as a parameter of quality of test results;
– evaluation of correlation of test results of concentrations of different components as another quality parameter of the results;
– influence of measurement uncertainty and correlation of the test results on probabilities of false decisions on conformity of the material or object;
– ways of minimization of measurement uncertainty to its target value and quality improvement.

It is expected that the workshop will be helpful for dissemination of the results of IUPAC project 2016-007-1-500 “Risks of conformity assessment of a multicomponent material or object in relation to measurement uncertainty of its test results”, as well as for development of a new project, the IUPAC/CITAC Guide on evaluation of total risks of conformity assessment of a multicomponent material or object.

The 2019 IPCF will focus on the theme ‘Polymers for Sustainable Global Development’. There will be some side events related to sustainable ‘Solid Waste Management’. A short course for young scientists and students will be organized on May 19, 2019.

The aim of the conference is to bring together on one platform researchers (senior professors, young scientists, students and experts from industries as well as from academia) involved in theory, experiment and computer simulations to achieve systemic understanding of connections between structures, interactions and properties of polymers.

The conference is extremely relevant in the enhancing the development of Science, Technology and Innovation environment of the region at large. The conference venue lies in the region where two biggest economies of the world are advancing in a rapid pace. The proposed conference will promote the international collaboration and hence support the development of chemistry activities in the region in general and for the rapid progress of polymer education and researches in Nepal.

The conference will provide us with an excellent opportunity to bring together scientists and technologists to stimulate and brain storm development in the emerging areas of proteomics, nucleonics, tissue engineering, drug delivery, light emitting polymers, green polymers and novel nanocomposites. These developments have wide implications for search to energy problems. Themed “Sustainability schemes for bio-based products in the framework of the circular bioeconomy”, the 6th International Environmental Best Practices Conference will be held from 22-26 September 2019 in Olsztyn, Poland.

The Conference will focus on a sustainable transition of the economy from fossil-based products to biomass-based alternatives; it is the biggest research challenge for the next decades. Firstly, the development of bio-based economy requires an interdisciplinary research approach as it is only through convergence of achievements at the crossroads of many sciences, including chemistry, biotechnology, technical, agricultural, environmental, social and economic sciences, that synergistic outcomes will be created. And secondly, applied research on economic system with bio-based value chains that assume material flows towards zero waste and pollution will integrate three fundamental areas of sustainable development: economy, environment, and society. The implementation of circularity within bioeconomy requires that the value chains be examined in the context of life cycle analysis that includes end-of-life options of bio-based products and restitution of the environment with the use of green chemistry. The other important issue is that the bioeconomy sectors are progressing more quickly than regulations associated with bio-based products entering the market. The gaps in the standards, certification schemes and labelling of bio-based products provide unregulated areas which cannot fulfil the requirements of sustainability.

2ND INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON NONCOVALENT INTERACTIONS (ICNI) July 19 - July 23	Conference :2ND INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON NONCOVALENT INTERACTIONS (ICNI) Location: Strasbourg, France Description: Noncovalent interactions are ubiquitous in Nature and contribute to the cohesion of chemical systems. If their existence was long suspected they were firstly taken into consideration by van der Waals in 1873, helping to revise the equation of state for real gases. In comparison to covalent bonds, intra- and intermolecular noncovalent interactions are in general locally weak and exhibit much lower energy and directionality, as reflected by the term “noncovalent”. Nevertheless, in many cases these interactions can collectively play a dominant role in synthesis, catalysis and design of materials. In the first half of the 20th century, these properties have already fueled passionate debates on their origin and nature particularly with the emergence of quantum chemistry with the works of Schrödinger and London. Based on the nature of the particular elements or synthons involved in the interactions, noncovalent bonds are often classified into hydrogen, noble gases, halogen, chalcogen, pnictogen, tetrel and triel «bonds», as well as agostic, anagostic, cation-π, anion-π, n-π*, π-π stacking, metal-metal, dispersion-driven and hydrophobic interactions, etc. As the fields of noncovalent interactions are growing intensively, several books in Wiley, Royal Society of Chemistry, Elsevier or Springer and four thematic issues on these weak forces have been published in Chemical Reviews in 1988, 1994, 2000 and 2016. The hydrogen and halogen bonds have already been defined by IUPAC (Recommendations 2011 and 2013, respectively), the definitions for chalcogen, pnictogen and tetrel bonds are under progress. Moreover, there are international conferences/symposia on Supramolecular Chemistry, and particular types of noncovalent interactions, such as The International Conference on “Horizons in Hydrogen Bond Research” (established by Prof. Lucjan Sobczyk in Poland in 1977), International Symposium on Halogen Bonding [established by Prof. Pierangelo Metrangolo and Prof. Giuseppe Resnati in Porto Cesareo (Lecce, Italy) in 2014], etc. Thus, the chemistry of this century is expected to be largely driven by noncovalent interactions and it was timely to establish a general/regular series of International Conferences on Noncovalent Interactions (ICNI), the first one of which was inaugurated on 2-6 September 2019 in Lisbon. The second edition of ICNI will be held on July 19th-23rd 2021 in Strasbourg-France, a high place of the research on noncovalent interactions and their applications. Further editions within this series will be followed every two years, in odd number years, thus avoiding competition with other major series of conferences, i.e., the ICOMC and ICCC, which are being held in even years (2014, 2016, 2018, etc.). In the same dates, the GEAB research group of the University of Oviedo (local organizers of the CSI XLII) will also organize in the Congress Center of Gijon the “21st International Symposium on Bioluminescence and Chemiluminescence” and the “XIX International Symposium on Luminescence Spectrometry” 21st ISBC-XIX ISLS. The aim of this other joint conference is to bring together researchers from all over the world working in the field of bioanalytical photoluminescence, bioluminescence, chemiluminescence and related disciplines.
The participation of the constantly growing luminescence community in the CSI conference will have a positive impact on both conferences by stimulating synergism among participants, as well as the level of participation, since all participants will have the possibility to attend both events with a single registration.

Nanoscale Science and Engineering for Agriculture and Food Systems – Gordon Research Conference Nano-enabled systems offer new potential technologies toward improving the safety, quality, and sustainability of our agriculture and food systems. In 2020, this 3rd GRC on Nanotechnology for Agriculture and Food Systems will focus on the convergence of nanotechnology with food and agriculture. A community of scientists from around the globe, representing academia, industry, government, and NGOs will assemble to present and discuss cutting edge, unpublished research with other experts in the field. In appreciation of the multi-disciplinary nature of this growing field, the program includes a comprehensive vision of critical and emerging research areas. POLYMER-SOLVENT COMPLEXES AND INTERCALATES (POLYSOLVAT-14) September 19 - 22	Conference :POLYMER-SOLVENT COMPLEXES AND INTERCALATES (POLYSOLVAT-14) Location: Strasbourg, Franc Description: The topic of this POLYSOLVAT series of international conferences was originally centered on polymer systems that are obtained through the co-crystallization, or in a broader sense, through the co-organization of polymer chains or macromolecules with solvent molecules. These systems, which are also designated as polymer-solvent molecular compounds, crystallosolvates, intercalates…., typically form through molecular recognition (intercalates) and/or through specific molecular interactions (complexes). While complexes of this type were known for decades for biopolymers, such as cellulose/water, cellulose/amines, amylose/water, amylose/organic molecules,… their observation with synthetic polymers is much more recent which has triggered a renewal of interest towards these systems. The former six conferences were therefore entitled Polymer-solvent Complexes and Intercalates. It, however, turned out that more and more other systems, such as supramolecular polymers (self-assembled systems) and proteins complexes, were discussed, as the scientists involved in their study clearly shared common concerns, and in many cases similar scientific approaches. To acknowledge the broader range of systems presented in this series of conferences, it was felt that a new name should be coined. POLYSOLVAT seemed to be an appropriate choice: a short name that conveys the general idea of specific interactions of large molecules with smaller ones. The 7th conference, that took place in Marrakech in 2008, was accordingly renamed POLYSOLVAT-7. As is now customary, POLYSOLVAT-14 will focus on the formation mechanisms, the morphology, the molecular structure, and the properties of compounds from synthetic polymers, biopolymers, proteins, and supramolecular polymers. The bulk state, the solutions and the systems formed at surfaces/interfaces will be considered. Joint Meeting of the 18th Asia Pacific Symposium on Microscale Separation and Analysis and 17th International Interdisciplinary Meeting on Bioanalysis

Analytical and environmental scientists of Asia-Pacific and European regions are having a joint meeting for the first time, to exchange scientific ideas, progresses, and urgent issues, and to get acquainted with each other for future collaborations.
The theme of the joint conference will be “Better lives through better bioanalytical and environmental analyses“. It is essential to assess the current biomedical and environmental situations correctly before prescribing any remedies. Thus, it is imperative to better the tools to analyze the biomedical and environmental status.

One of the themes of the IUPAC organized sessions will be “microplastics in the environment” which draws public concern worldwide recently. The IUPAC sessions will discuss the state of art tools to analyze microplastics in the environment and the current status on health effects of microparticles.

POLY-CHAR Auckland was initially planned to take place in January 2021. Circumstances associated with the COVID-19 pandemic and the health and safety of every conference attendee triggered the postponement first to 17-20 January 2022 and now it is further postponed to 2023.

In the meantime the preparation for POLY-CHAR 2022 is proceeding as a live digital hybrid event and will take place in Germany in May 2022. The Committee will safeguard all the hard work the organizing team has completed so far and shift to the new conference date.
POLY-CHAR 2023 World Forum on Advanced Materials and “Short Course on Polymer Characterization” The Annual Forum on Advanced Materials brings together professors, students and people from industry involved in theory, experiment and computer simulations under one roof to achieve systemic understanding of connections between structures, interactions, processing and properties in polymer materials science. This is a long-term activity, not aimed at temporary fashions.

From the very beginning one of the important aims of the conference is to give young scientists a forum to present their result and to meet with distinguished scientists from all over the world. The conference to set its mark in all parts of the work in order so that students and scientists from all parts of the world have a chance to participate at least occasionally.
